DESCRIPTION:Through the looking glass of AI platforms: Between global governance and techno-regulation?\nThe Centre for IT & IP Law is organizing a conference on AI Law & Ethics on the 28th of February. \nThe advancement in data science\, together with the growing availability of data have contributed to the flourishing of inter-operable platforms\, where AI is increasingly used. The conference will focus on the multilevel legal and ethical challenges regarding the impact of consumer and industrial platforms on consumers\, contributors and end-users. \nThe increasing availability of these data by platforms risks creating potential power asymmetries between individuals and companies with a consequential lowering of individual legal protections. \nThe conference moves from the assumption that the interoperability of these platforms should be ensured not only at a technical level but also at a legal and ethical one. \nThe conference aims to explore whether this could be obtained through a commonly agreed (global) governance model that can ensure a ‘sustainable’ evolution of these platforms.
